Where it all BEGAN
A team of professionals united by a shared passion for the outdoors and enjoying the country’s diverse regions. Then came the disruption of COVID-19 hit.

During the lockdown periods, one member, an experienced security systems specialist and field engineer, was engaged to oversee the security of development sites. Traditional CCTV solutions on the market were proving inadequate: they were costly, inflexible, and slow to respond to real-time incidents.

Ideas and BRAINSTORMING
In the early hours of the morning, an idea emerged while patrolling a job, leading to the creation of the 'STRIPEY', a trailer-based, solar CCTV system that can be installed by a single person in just 10 minutes. [Patent Pending]
The original STRIPEY has undergone extensive road testing, withstanding cyclones and floods, and continues to offer clients a fast, effective, and affordable solution for their CCTV across various industries. Pictured here during its inaugural deployment, the STRIPEY provided essential support for event security at a summer concert, showcasing its reliability and versatility.

Fast forward to TODAY
UNREEL HIRE began a vision inspired by a 'kiwi dream.' We have expanded our reach with units now available Auckland, Northland, BOP, and Waikato, with plans for further growth. Along the way we introduced a traditional long-term concrete-based option in response to client preferences.
Our dedicated team now assists multiple clients and are proud to offer the most extensive CCTV software range at an attractive price point.

Almost forgot the FISHING
We better mention the hobby that forged UNREEL HIRE... our love for fishing, spending time with mates and 'kiwi' summers, maybe a cold Heineken as well! Centrally focused around the mighty 885 Extreme 'UNREEL', memories are made, marlin are raised and a 'brand' has been created.
